How God bestows gifts is focus of conference
A conference that discusses how God bestows gifts will be offered by the Confessional Lutherans for Christ’s Commission on Saturday, February 2 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Garfield.
A conference that discusses how God bestows gifts will be offered by the Confessional Lutherans for Christ’s Commission on Saturday, February 2 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Garfield.
The conference will be taught by the Rev. Dr. Karl Weber of Ottertail. It uses the basics of the Christian faith found in the Small Catechism presented for both new and mature Christians. Dialogue and discussion will be part of the conference. Session topics include:
--Our ailment – predicament
--God is a God of love
--Word has power
--Word forgives sins
--Word applied to water
--Word applied to bread and wine
--Do this in remembrance of Me
--Loving structure
Registration is 8:45 to 9:30 a.m., followed by a service of Matins led by the Rev. Ben Schimm and the sessions. Lunch and coffee will be provided. The event will end around 2 p.m.
