Here’s another reason to subscribe to the Echo Press: free access to the newspaper’s online archive system.
Most stories and images that appear on the Echo Press website go into the archive after 14 days. Readers had to pay a charge of $1.95 to access each archived story or purchase a Press Pass for $4.95 that gave them access to the archives for one month.
Now, when readers subscribe to the Echo Press for the first time or renew their subscription, their newspaper account will unlock access to all articles and content in the online archives for free.
This new feature is called Digital All Access.
“This is our way of saying thank you to our long-time subscribers as well as to those who are considering subscribing to the paper for the first time,” said Echo Press Publisher Jody Hanson. “By subscribing, readers will not only be assured that they’ll never miss a print issue of the newspaper, they’ll also be able to access stories that ran weeks or years ago for free.”
The newspaper archives go back to the year 2000 and include news stories, sports, features, columns, opinion pieces, obituaries and more.
To set this up, the subscriber will have to register separately from the basic online registration page.
After set-up, the digital registration will be accessible through their regular echopress.comlogin/password. If they do not already have an online account, they’ll need to first register through the basic online form by clicking the register button at the top left of the website. Once that account is activated, they can go to the Digital All Access registration page.
They will need both their Echo Press account number and phone number associated with it to log in.
To register for the Digital All Access account or to find out more subscription information, click on the “Subscribe to The Echo Press” text link at the top right of the Echo Press website. Once there, either click on the Digital All Access link or scroll down for more options.
