The Silverstreak wrestlers split their matches at the Border West triangular with a pair of teams in the Class A Lean and Mean division (earning votes in the state polls), defeating New York Mills 39-30 and falling to Border West 52-28.

Trenton Coyer had the easiest road to a pair of wins as he received forfeits in both of his matches at 112 pounds, while Brendon Coyer, 106, received a forfeit in his match against New York Mills, but picked up a nice pin over his Border West opponent.

Austin Rollag also had a pair of wins as he earned pins over Zach Frost of New York Mills and Carter Behrens of Border West.

Peter Hagen and Garret Scherr traded spots between 220 and 285 pounds, and both wrestlers earned two wins on the night.

Hagen pinned Cole Grabow of New York Mills while wrestling at 220 pounds, then moved to 285 to take on Wyatt Tritz of Border West, winning 9-0.

Scherr was a 3-2 winner over New York Mills’ Max Carlson at 285 pounds in a battle between two state-ranked wrestlers. Scherr is ranked No. 3 at 220 pounds, while Carlson has the No. 8 spot at 285 pounds.

In his second match of the night, Scherr faced S. Callenius of Border West, winning on a 1:50 pin.
