The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol advise drivers to slow down in west central Minnesota today. Wind and light snow are creating slippery spots.

This morning the State Patrol has received reports of dozens of vehicles in the ditch along Interstate 94 between Fergus Falls and Moorhead and on Highway 10 between Moorhead and Hawley.

Driving conditions are generally listed as difficult in Clay, Wilkin and Otter Tail counties. MnDOT crews are out working to improve road conditions.

Motorists should remember to:

· Drive slowly on bridges, overpasses and tunnels.

· Use a safe speed for winter driving conditions, regardless of the posted speed limit.

· Keep a safe stopping distance from the vehicle in front of you.

· Keep both hands on the steering wheel, eyes on the road and attention on your driving.
