The 3rd annual Granite City Ice Fishing Derby will be held Saturday, February 9 on Pleasant Lake, between St. Cloud and Rockville.
Registration starts at 10 a.m., with fishing from noon to 3 p.m. More than $10,000 in prizes could be distributed to participants, including portable fish houses, augers, fish locators and more.
The last two years the event attracted more than 200 participants per year. Many fish of all species were caught. In 2011, the largest fish was caught by a Scout from Becker. This year, with prizes increased, organizers expect an even larger field of participants.

Sponsors include Simply Outdoors Experiences, The 400 Club, Leighton Broadcasting, Rockville Sportsman’s Club, Clam Corporation, Scheels, West Central Sanitation and others.
Proceeds of the event will benefit local youth outdoor activities.
