Alexandria gymnastics: Tumbling to the top

Cardinal Tahlia Bowden captured a pair of first place individual finishes to earn the all-around title, while Briquelle Bowden claimed the bars crown and Hannah Wendel the floor exercise as Alexandria swept all divisions to defeat Willmar 141.1-135.1 Thursday night behind a season-high team score.
“What a big win for the Cardinals,” said head coach Becca Cederberg. “The Alex Cardinals went up against the Willmar Cardinals, [and it] was expected to be a very close meet.
“The Alexandria Cardinals brought their “A” game, and had a season best win with a score of 141.1.”
Both teams are ranked in the most recent state polls, with Alexandria No. 7 and Willmar No. 10.
