A new season begins at Lakes Area Theatre

Lakes Area Theatre (LAT) in Alexandria is offering the following productions this week:

ON STAGE

LAT starts its third full season with a comedy/drama by New York playwright Susan Rowan Johnson entitled The Amazing Life of Hubie Hartzel. The show will begin on Friday, January 11 at 7 p.m.

It is directed by Kent Garlinghouse and stars Ben Klipfel, Matthew Hartman, Ben Roers, Katy Niemeyer, Brittany Wallerich, Claudia Bursch and Leah Drexler. Hilary Ninman is designing and performing sound effects. Bob Piotrowski is arranging and performing music.

ON THE AIR

Tune in to KXRA 1490 AM on Sunday, January 13 at 12:30 p.m. for another case solved by the gum shoe Johnny Dollar. In this episode of Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar, he uncovers the plot behind Murder is a Merry-Go-Round.

The show was directed by Paul Shoenack and stars Philip Goellner, Bruce Wegner, Jim Thoreen, Betsy Ostenson, Rex Sweetwater and Sharon Thalmann. Bob Piotrowski was on the keyboard, and Bruce Wegner provided sound effects.

VOICE ACTING CLASS

For middle or high schoolers interested in the world of voice acting, there will be classes held at LAT on Saturday, January 19 from 8:30 a.m. to noon and Saturday, January 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
