Alexandria Nordic skiing: Cards shine at Fergus Falls

Alexandria put together some quality individual performances at the Fergus Falls Nordic ski invitational at Spidahl’s Ski Gaard Tuesday in a meet where no team scores were kept.
Julia Sieling led all skiers with a first place individual finish in the girls’ varsity division, finishing with a time of 16:17 over the 4.7-kilometer course, with Melissa Gromatka finishing sixth in 16:38 and Becca Mateer seventh in 17:34.
Lauren Hagstrom was 13th in 18:48 and Adrianne Wensman was 14th in 18:52 to round out the girls’ team finishes.
The Card boys also put in some excellent finishes as all four racers were in the top 10. Pat Flynn finished third individually in 14:03, while Cody Call was fourth in 14:17, Carl Branch was ninth in 14:47 and Eric Branch was 10th in 15:13.
Unofficial team scores had both the Cardinal boys’ and the girls’ teams finishing second.
