Wrestling: Osakis defeats Browerville

Behind four pins and four forfeits, the Silverstreak wrestlers improved to 7-4 overall as they defeated Browerville 55-19 Thursday night.

Conrad Wiener, 138 pounds; Austin Rollag, 152 pounds; Mitch Sunder, 195 pounds; and Peter Hagen, 220 pounds; all won their matches by pin, while Trenton Coyer, 113; Taylor Giese, 126; Nils Hagen, 182; and Garret Scherr, 285; all earned victories by forfeit, giving the Silverstreaks six points in each of those individual matches.

Also winning were Brendon Coyer, 106, with a decision victory, and Colton Waldvogel, 120, with a major decision victory.

Osakis will host an invitational on Friday beginning at 4 p.m. Albany, Browerville, Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg, Ottertail Central and Pequot Lakes/Pine River-Backus and Osakis will have a total of nine state-ranked individuals.

Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg is ranked No. 5 in the Class A polls and Pequot Lakes/Pine River-Backus is one of the Lean and Mean teams (earning votes in the polls) in Class AA.
