Frozen Ole hockey this weekend
Pond Hockey Championships, entertainment will be held at the Viking Plaza Mall parking lot Friday and Saturday.
Pond hockey is coming to Alexandria this weekend.
The Frozen Ole Pond Hockey Championships will be held in front of D. Michael B’s in the Viking Plaza Mall parking lot on Friday and Saturday, with plenty of entertainment to choose from.
The 21+ tournament has divisions for every experience level. Registration begins Friday at 3 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Saturday, with hockey action starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
There will be live music on Friday night as Dirty Reggae Punx performs and again on Saturday night as The Lost Boys will be in concert.
In addition to great hockey and live music, there will be plenty to eat in the food tent.
Those interested can also participate in the Frozen Ole/Fat Tire bike time trials on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and there will be a puck shoot-out from noon to 6 p.m. to benefit the United Way of Douglas and Pope Counties.

10 a.m.-8 p.m. – Frozen Ole/Fat Tire bike time trials – salsa bikes.
10 a.m.-8 p.m. – Food and beverage tent open
Noon-6 p.m. – Frozen Ole Puck Shoot-out to benefit United Way of Douglas and Pope Counties.
8:45 p.m. – Awards ceremony.
9 p.m.-midnight – live music by The Lost Boys
