Alexandria boys' basketball: Cardinals fall to Brainerd
Alexandria's two-game winning streak fell by the wayside.
The Alexandria boys’ basketball team saw a two-game winning streak snapped against Brainerd last Thursday night.
The Warriors welcomed in the Cardinals with a perfect 5-0 record and extended that to six straight wins in a 62-53 game. Alexandria was within one point with 2:06 left before the Warriors outscored the Cardinals 8-0 in the closing minutes.
Logan Doyle had 12 points and 19 rebounds to lead Alexandria. David Krivanek added 11 points, while Travis Krueger and Joe Gorghuber each had nine. Jack Sauer finished with a game-high 16 for Brainerd and Marcus Comstock added 15.
The loss dropped the Cardinals to 3-5 overall and 1-3 in the Central Lakes Conference. They will be off until this Friday night when they welcome in St. Cloud Tech for another CLC game.
