Daryl was born April 23, 1947 in Kensington, the son of Vernold and Ethel (Buck) Wetterling. He attended and graduated from Kensington High School in 1965. After high school, Daryl entered the United States Army, serving his country in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge, he became a bartender in Coeur D’alene, Idaho, and then moved back to Kensington, where he was employed at the Holiday Inn as a bartender.

He is survived by his two brothers, Dick (Linda) Wetterling of Kensington and Dan Wetterling of Wheaton; sister, Phyllis Fleischfresser of Alexandria; and several nieces and nephews.

Daryl was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Connie Wetterling; and brother-in-law, Eldred Fleischfresser.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, January 8 at First Lutheran Church in Kensington with the Rev. Kathryn Rothman officiating. Tricia Salsbury provided music. Honorary urn bearers were Daryl’s nieces and nephews. Kensington Legion Post #268 performed military honors.
