Hometown girl Kendall Brickweg is the newest addition to the Echo Press team. Brickweg joins the local newspaper as a graphic designer.

Born and raised in Alexandria, Brickweg graduated from Jefferson High School in 2008 and went on to study fine arts at the University of Minnesota Duluth before earning her Associate degree in Communication Art and Design at Alexandria Technical and Community College.

“I decided that what I would really like to do is become a graphic designer and wanted to focus on getting my degree and a fast track education for graphics instead of liberal education,” Brickweg said.

Brickweg has worked as a graphic designer locally for American Solutions for Business, Lakes Area Graphix and PhotoMagic. She interned with Johnson Group Marketing in St. Cloud.

Brickweg enjoys creating typography and looks forward to working on all the extra publications and projects the Echo Press publishes. She sees the wide variety of work and being directly involved with the community as added bonuses to her position.

Newlywed this fall, Brickweg lives with her husband, Bryce, on Lake Blackwell in Farwell with their two dogs, Willa and Kiana. In her spare time she likes to spend time with family, friends and dogs. Hobbies include crafting, running, Pilates, shopping and watching movies.
