Lake Osakis hosts Extreme ice fishing event
The first go at the Team Extreme Ice Fishing Tournament hit Lake Osakis on Sunday.

Anglers Lawrence Luoma and Michael Thompson reeled in a total of 9 pounds of fish to take first place and walk away with $609 in prize money.
There were 11 teams competing on the ice Sunday. Look for complete results and a photo of the 1st place winners in today’s sports section.
The circuit fishing contest started at Osakis and, through the winter, will also be hosted on Lake Minnewaska, Pelican Lake, Clearwater Lake, Round Lake and Mille Lacs Lake.
Head of the Lakes Resort on the west side of Lake Osakis served as the tournament headquarters.
