Homebuyers' $15,000 grant awarded

A grant totaling $15,000 was recently awarded to BlackRidgeBank by Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) of Des Moines, Iowa. The grant is part of FHLB Des Moines Rural Homeownership Fund (RHF) supporting homeownership opportunities for families and individuals in rural communities.

Through the RHF program, qualified individuals and families receive funds to assist with the down payment, closing cost, counseling or rehabilitation of their property.

By participating in RHF, BlackRidgeBank will be able to distribute awards of up to $1,500 to each eligible homebuyer.

Funds for the RHF program are available at the Alexandria main office, the Alexandria 3rd avenue location, the Carlos location and the Miltona location.

“Through the grants, [local] lenders are able to bring stability to the lives of the recipient families and individuals, as well as to their neighborhoods, towns and communities,” said Gary Dodge, VP/director, community investment, FHLB Des Moines.
