Alexandria doctors nominated for award

Paul Kietzmann, M.D., and Steve Ferguson, M.D., both family doctors with the Alexandria Clinic in Alexandria, were nominated for the 2013 Minnesota Family Physician of the Year Award.

This award is presented annually to a family physician who represents the highest ideals of the specialty of family medicine, including caring, comprehensive medical service, community involvement and serving as a role model.

The Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP) will accept additional information and letters about Kietzmann and Ferguson until January 15. Letters can be mailed to Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians, 600 South Highway 169, #1680, St. Louis Park, MN 55426 or e-mailed to kthorson@maftp.org.

All letters will be read and considered by a task force that will select up to four finalists. The MAFP Board of Directors will select one of those finalists to receive the award, which will be presented at the MAFP annual meeting in April.

The MAFP is a professional association of family physicians, family medicine residents and medical students organized to assist family physicians in providing quality medical care in Minnesota.
