Girls' basketball: West Central Area falls to Hancock
The West Central Area girls saw their losing streak extend to four straight as they struggled against Hancock on Friday, falling 65-40.
“This was a really tough loss,” said head coach Beth Hanson. “Hancock came out tough and their shots were falling.
“Overall, we just didn’t show up to play. After the first 10 minutes, our defense picked it up and played fairly consistently the rest of the game.
“We could not get any sort of offense going and we got beat on the boards,” she said. “We learn from this game and move on. All of these changes that need to be made are in our control.”
Abby VanKempen came in late in the game to spark the Knight offense, scoring nine points, while Holly VanKempen had eight points and 15 rebounds.
