Timothy was born March 20, 1962 in Pelican Rapids. The son of Luther and Ardelle (Johnson) Anderson, he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He attended Evansville Public School, graduating from Evansville High School in 1981.
Timothy and Bernice Horvat were married on September 18, 1982 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria. After their marriage, they lived in Breckenridge, where Tim was employed with the Larry Murdoff Farm. They then moved to Evansville, to Alexandria, and then returned to Evansville.
Tim worked for Alexandria Rubbish Waste Management, hauling garbage, then West Central WM, and then for Western Lumber Company before starting on with Pope-Douglas Solid Waste Management, all of Alexandria. He was an employee for Pope-Douglas Solid Waste Management for 21 years, first as a crane operator, then as boiler operator and his last position was shift supervisor for the boiler operators.
Tim served with the Fergus Falls Army Reserve for 11 years. He enjoyed American war history, his walks on the walking trail and in high school he played football and wrestled. Tim liked attending the Rollag Threshing Show every year with his dad and brother. He was a member of the Evansville Fire Department for more than 16 years, serving as chief from February 2009 to January 2012. He also had served on the Evansville City Council, along with the Mound Grove Cemetery Board. Tim was a member of Calvary Covenant Church.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice; daughter, Stephanie Kay Anderson of Fargo; two sons, Allen Timothy Anderson of Alexandria and Brian Alexander Anderson of Evansville; parents, Luther and Ardelle Anderson of Evansville; one brother, Dennis (Jeanette) Anderson of Sebeka; and by numerous relatives and friends.
Tim was preceded in death by one sister, Cherryl Anderson Martell; grandparents, Herman and Alice Johnson and Burton and Margaret Anderson; and by one niece and one nephew, Christine and Christopher.
Memorials are preferred by the family.
A memorial service was held Monday, December 31 at the Evansville school with the Rev. Mick Murphy officiating. Interment was at Mound Grove Cemetery in Evansville.
