Jerry O'Hagan Orchestra to perform for Winter Dance Club
The Winter Dance Club will host The Jerry O’Hagan Orchestra on Sunday, January 6 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Lakeside Ballroom in Glenwood.
The Winter Dance Club will host The Jerry O’Hagan Orchestra on Sunday, January 6 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Lakeside Ballroom in Glenwood.
The dance was originally scheduled for December 9 but was cancelled due to inclement weather.
The 11-piece orchestra from the metro area plays music of the Big Band era.
The band is led by Jerry O’Hagan, who plays swing clarinet in the style of Artie Shaw and Benny Goodman.
O’Hagan and the band play many of the featured numbers that these two clarinet players made famous.
Charmin Michelle, who sings in the style of Billie Holliday, is the band's featured female vocalist.
Both longtime and beginning ballroom dancers of all ages and skill levels are welcome.
A free dance lesson will start at 2:15 p.m. Admission is $10 per person or $5 for those ages 17 to 30. A season pass is also available. There is a dress code of no jeans. For more information, visit www.lakesideballroom.org or call Barbara Benson at (320) 763-6432.
