Hunt Down Your Photos contest winners named
The winners of the 11th annual Echo Press Hunt Down Your Photos contest have been chosen. Winning photos were selected based on sharpness, lighting, setting and overall impact.
The winners of the 11th annual Echo Press Hunt Down Your Photos contest have been chosen. Winning photos were selected based on sharpness, lighting, setting and overall impact.
Other select photos from this year’s contest entries may be published in the Lakes Area Outdoors special edition printed in the Echo Press in the fall of 2013.
First in this year’s contest is Dionne Oehlenschlager of Alexandria for her photo of a wood duck, taken on the Crow Wing River near Nimrod in the spring of 2012. Oehlenschlager received a $50 gift certificate to The General Store in Osakis.
Second place goes to Sara Reemts of Alexandria for a photo of her family’s dog, Jackson, sleeping next to his prized pheasant after a hard day of hunting. Reemts received a $25 gift certificate to Osakis Meats.
Third place was awarded to Vicki Carlson of Evansville for a photo of Andy and Blaze Carlson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It was taken in the fall of 2011 as the father and son were off to go dove hunting. Carlson received a $20 gift certificate to Photo Magic.
Honorable mention honors go to Naomi Peterson of Alexandria for a photo of her son, Colby, who was dared to kiss a fish and did; Dionne Oehlenschlager of Alexandria for a photo of a loon, taken on Red Lake in the spring of 2012; Curt Anderson of Glenwood for a photo of Taylor Moen of Henning during duck opener 2012 near Farwell.
