Letter - No good comes from assault rifles
How many funerals must people attend because of the United States’ lax gun laws? Do you know that the U.S. is number one for people dying because of guns?
To the editor:
How many funerals must people attend because of the United States’ lax gun laws? Do you know that the U.S. is number one for people dying because of guns? Well, isn’t that something to be proud of?
No good comes out of having assault-type pistols or rifles. They (whoever they are) say must guns are owned by law-abiding people (could be the legal guns), but it only takes seconds for even the law abiders to get ticked off about something.
People pull the trigger for whatever mind set they have. It’s the damn guns that kill.
Of all the good things Congress tries to change, why not rid this country of these weapons that are massacring innocent people? Maybe our Constitution needs to be updated to go with our changing country. And all you hunters still could hunt, just with single-shot weapons.
Frankly, I’m tired of reading or hearing about daily shootings; be it in a small town or big city, anywhere in the United States.
