Alexandria gymnastics: A new season best for Cards

By: Lori Mork, Alexandria Echo Press

A 9.425 on vault tied a school record for Briquelle Bowden as she placed third in that event, helping the Cardinal gymnasts to a new season best score in their loss to St. Cloud Tech.

“Even though the Tigers grabbed the win [with a 145.475], the Cardinals had their season best of 139.425,” said head coach Becca Cederberg. “The Cardinals shined on all events, and really have some huge potential to achieve all the goals they have this year. It is really amazing seeing the team grow as the season progresses.”

Along with her third place on the vault, Bowden finished second on the bars and beam, and was third on the floor exercise to take first overall in the all-around with a 37.1.

Alexandria will be in Sartell on Thursday, January 3.
