Kalli Bowser, Amanda Christianson and Karly Betterman all reached double figures as the Cardinal girls left no doubt who was in charge Tuesday night, defeating Brainerd 63-27 in their first game back home after a five-game road trip.
“The Cardinals took the court, jumping all over the Warriors and never looking back,” said head coach Wendy Kohler. “Defensive energy, switching defenses and hammering the boards got the Cards off right from the opening tipoff.”
Bowser and Christianson had 15 and Betterman 10 as Alexandria rolled to a 39-16 halftime lead.
“We had all players contribute in the win with varsity playing time, so, all in all, a great team win for the Cards in the CLC,” said the coach. “Scoring was led by Kalli Bowser as she flexed her muscle in the paint with rebounds, pump fakes and great finishes.
“Betterman hounded the Warrior guards and was a thorn in their side all night.”
Alexandria will host its holiday tournament on Friday and Saturday, December 28-29.
