Alexandria dance team: Cardinals seventh in jazz event

The Cardinal dance team finished seventh at Willmar’s Central Lakes Conference jazz competition Friday.

“The team made significant improvement in their jazz routine from a week ago at the Albany Invite,” said head coach Christine Reilly. “The routine was much more polished in the execution category, but the team was off on their turn technique and therefore did not have the performance that they are capable of. They just missed taking the sixth place spot by one point.”

Sartell finished first in the competition, while Brainerd was second. Willmar and Fergus Falls needed a tiebreaker for the eighth place spot.
