A wintry mix of snow, sleet and ice is making driving conditions hazardous in Douglas County today.

A winter weather advisory is in effect until midnight tonight. A mixture of light rain and snow is expected to spread across the area and change to all snow this afternoon. Between two to four inches of snow are in the forecast, depending on how quickly the rain will turn to snow.

Several accidents have already been reported in the Douglas County region this morning and state troopers are reporting extremely icy conditions all over the area. Several vehicles have slid off the road requiring tow assistance.

"Motorists are still driving way too fast for the conditions," said Seargeant Jesse Grabow, public information trooper. "One trooper reported on a posted 55 mph highway that they were only able to do 10 mph. Black ice condtions are out there. Slow down!"
