Theatre L'Homme Dieu announces 2013 season

Theatre L’Homme Dieu (TLHD), entering its 53rd season, recently announced its 2013 schedule, which includes musicals, comedies, dramas, a film series and more.

Following is the theater’s 2013 schedule:

--When a Man Loves a Diva (Lab Theater), June 25-30: Features three male comic vocalists belting out hits from the Chiffons to the Supremes, from Whitney and Aretha to Donna, Dolly, Adele and beyond.

--Lombardi (The History Theater), July 9-13: The life and passion of legendary Green Bay Packers coach Vince Lombardi is told through the eyes and words of his players, family, and media in this Broadway hit.

--Legacy: A Tribute to the King of Pop (Steppingstone Theater), July 16-21: Michael Jackson impersonator Luis Castillo and the cast of Legacy take audiences through a journey of Michael Jackson’s classic songs such as Beat It, Thriller, Smooth Criminal, Billie Jean and more.

--Sisters, July 23-28: Filled with songs and yarns, Sisters is about being a middle-aged woman, Christian and African American in the 21st century, combined with the power of sisterhood, friendship and family.

--Sunset Boulevard (Minneapolis Musical Theatre), August 6-11: This Andrew Lloyd Webber musical about a silent movie star weaves a tale of faded glory and unfulfilled ambition.

--Almost, Maine, August 13-18: As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost, Maine’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways.

Each show has seven performances: Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

From July 17-19, the dancers of Legacy will conduct three-day dance camps for youths, offering hip hop and Michael Jackson-style dance. The ensemble of Sisters will conduct two master classes on jazz and gospel music.

TLHD will also partner with Alexandria Area Arts Association to offer a year-round film series, with showings in the Bursch Family Hall on the first Friday of every summer month: June 7, July 5 and August 2. Titles are still to be announced.

Season and flex passes are now available at www.tlhd.org and by calling (320) 846-3150. Both can be purchased at a buy-one-get-one-for-half-price basis until December 31. Senior, group and child discounts are available. Single tickets range from $17.50 to $22.50 and will go on sale June 11, 2013.
