Emmy Award-winner Shaun Johnson to perform at AAAA

As part of his Big Band Experience holiday tour, Emmy Award-winner and lead vocalist of Tonic Sol-fa, Shaun Johnson, will perform at the Alexandria Area Arts Association (AAAA) Theatre on Wednesday, December 19 at 7:30 p.m.

“Last year, I set out to raise money for neighborhood charities in select cities during Christmastime,” said Johnson. He noted that those concerts were some of his most memorable times on stage.

After the tour, the band learned their sound engineer had accidentally recorded the Burnsville show. They thought it perfectly captured the energy of the performances, and their new album “Live” is the result.

This year, the Big Band Experience tour will feature new interactive songs, selections from the new “Live” CD, high tech production, a tuxedo and plenty of horns, all to raise money for local organizations.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. They can be purchased at the AAAA Theatre box office or at (320) 762-8300. All proceeds go toward the KIKV Radiothon to End Child Abuse.
