Kristi Lou Johnson Leason, 44, Alexandria, died December 5, 2012 at Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck.

Kristi Lou Johnson Leason, 44, Alexandria, died December 5, 2012 at Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck.

Kristi was born August 4, 1968 in Alexandria. She was welcomed by her brothers, Scott and Jim Johnson.

Kristi attended school in Alexandria. She played in the school band and was a drum majorette. She went to State in shot put and worked at the local television station during high school. After high school, Kristi attended St. Cloud State University.

On February 21, 1998, Kristi was united in marriage to James Leason. The couple was blessed with two children, Daniel and Megan. They lived and worked in the St. Cloud and Cold Spring area.

Kristi decorated wedding cakes, including many for her nieces’ and nephews’ weddings. She managed the bakery at Coburns and worked in the bakery at Sam’s Club. She also was the Sunday school and youth director at Peace Lutheran Church in Cold Spring.

In 2009, Kristi moved to Alexandria with her children. She managed the Subway Shops and worked at Pete’s County Market bakery.

The most important thing in Kristi’s life was her children. She loved to cook and share meals with family and friends. She was always ready to help people in need and she loved to cruise around Douglas County’s back roads in her car.

Kristi is survived by her children, Daniel Leason and Megan Leason, both of Rice; mother, Betty Harne Johnson Foslien of Alexandria; father, Frank Foslien of Alexandria; brothers, Scott and wife, Edna Johnson of Miltona, Jim and wife, Lori Johnson of Starbuck, Frank and wife, Sue Foslien of Brandon; sisters, Karen and husband, Dean Andrist of Osakis, Emily and husband, Rick Roers of Moorhead; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held for Kristi on Saturday, December 15 at 1 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria with Pastor Art Montgomery officiating. A time of sharing will be held in the fellowship hall at the church immediately following the service.
