HFHDC will host several Home for the Holidays open house events where families can learn about partnership with Habitat. The first event is planned for Saturday, December 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The open house will be held at a Habitat home on 1013 Darling Avenue East in Alexandria. Families will be able to meet with Habitat staff and committee members who can answer their questions. They will also be able to see a completed home and learn about the green building practices that Habitat uses. Interested families will be able to complete and submit an application as well.
This year, four more families will celebrate the holidays in a home of their own because of their partnership with HFHDC.
Those dreaming of a home for the holidays, or who know a family who may benefit from partnership with Habitat, should attend the open house.
A second session will be offered on January 19, 2013. For more information, contact the Habitat office at (320) 762-4255 or visit HFHDC online at www.hfhdouglascounty.org.
HFHDC has been an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International since 1997 and has built 34 homes for sale to partner families throughout Douglas County, providing housing for 140 people.
