Boys' basketball: Minnewaska edges New London-Spicer in overtime

The Lakers put four players in double figures

After a relatively easy win last week, Minnewaska was tested on the road Tuesday night, battling to a 74-72 overtime win over New London-Spicer in West Central Conference play.

Trailing by six at the half, the Lakers bounced back to tie the game 62-62 at the end of regulation, then hit 9-for-14 at the free throw line in the extra session for the win.

Austin Lieser and Austin Ostrander both netted 15 points in the victory as the Lakers made their trips to the free throw line count as Lieser hit all eight of his charity shots and Ostrander was 3-for-3.

Jake Amundson, who had six points in the game, was also perfect at the line in both his attempts. Jayden Beecher added 14 points, with Austin Giese netting 10.

Isaiah Adams paced Minnewaska with 14 rebounds, 11 of those on the defensive end as the Lakers pulled down a total 44 for the night. Ostrander added 10 boards, eight on the defensive end.

Joey Dreier had 18 points and 10 steals for the Wildcats.

Minnewaska will host Morris tonight, Friday, and on Tuesday will travel to Sauk Centre.
