Students in the psychology classes at Jefferson High School (JHS) in Alexandria hosted “Senior Night in Vegas” on Thursday, November 29 at the JHS cafeteria. The event was free for all senior citizens who wanted to attend and dance with the students.
About 85 seniors attended. They enjoyed bingo and other Vegas-style games and, of course, dancing. The students taught the seniors some hip new dances, while the seniors were happy to show the students a thing or two as well.
They danced their way through the schottische, polka, waltz, swing, electric slide, cha cha slide and the macarena.
Appetizers and desserts were also served and door prizes were given out.
