Alexandria Area Hockey Association is Grape Stomp's featured nonprofit

The Alexandria Area Hockey Association (AAHA) is the proud nonprofit organization for this year's Carlos Creek Winery Grape Stomp for a Cause, to be held Friday through Sunday, September 13-15.

All stomping registration proceeds for Sunday, September 15 help support AAHA. Funds raised will be used to help purchase equipment, jerseys and support its Rink Rookie program, a way to introduce young kids to the sport of hockey without the expense of equipment.

The AAHA will sell raffle tickets for two hockey sticks signed by the 2012-13 Wild Hockey Team at its booth located in the grape stomp tent. Raffle tickets are $5. Information about the local hockey program will also be available.

The Alexandria Area Hockey Association is a volunteer organization committed to providing a quality environment for youth to learn and enjoy the great sport of hockey.

The association is made up of 300 youth younger than the age of 14 and approximately 50 coaches who volunteer thousands of hours of instruction each year.
