Ag innovation was topic of meeting

Minnesota ranchers Miles and Sarah Kuschel of Rocking K Ranch in Sebeka spoke at the August 14 Alexandria Golden K Kiwanis Club meeting, sharing how innovation in agriculture helps Minnesota farmers raise healthy food.

The Kuschels’ presentation shared how science and technology has improved the quality of food while also improving animal care and protecting the environment.

The Kuschels are third generation ranchers. Their Rocking K Ranch was started by Miles’ grandparents in 1946 as a dairy farm. When the dairy barn was lost in a fire, they began beef ranching. Today, they primarily have Angus cattle.

“It’s important that consumers understand how food is produced,” Sarah said. “We enjoy sharing how innovation in agriculture helps Minnesota farmers and ranchers grow healthy food, while also caring for our animals.”

The Farming Today program is presented by the Minnesota Farm Bureau Foundation, in partnership with Minnesota Corn Growers Association and its Farm Credit Partners.
