Minnesota Farmers Union to host rural issues discussion
Minnesota Farmers Union has scheduled multiple meetings that will be held around the state of Minnesota that will discuss important issues affecting farmers and rural communities. One of these meetings will be held on Thursday, March 30, at 1:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, Courtyard Room 4, Alexandria.
Several key agricultural and legislative leaders are expected to speak and answer questions from attendees.
"The meetings allow us to not only hear the voice of those living in rural communities but also to bring the information we have, and the local experts who have additional information to them," said Minnesota Farmers Union President Gary Wertish.
Key topics are health insurance, buffer rules, property taxes, ditch mowing regulations and commodity prices. Local experts expected to attend are Wertish and Emily Piper, commissioner of human services.
