Zion Lutheran kindergarten to offer all-day option

Zion Lutheran School in Alexandria is making major changes to its kindergarten program for the 2014-2015 school year.

Zion is moving from a three-day program to an all-day, everyday program that lets parents choose a half-day option for their children if they feel their students are not ready for a full-time program.

The first time that families may sign up for kindergarten classes for 2014-2015 will be at the Kindergarten Roundup on Monday, March 31 at 6:30 p.m. Parents and their children are invited to attend.

The roundup is an opportunity to tour the facilities and receive information about the new program.

Zion’s current kindergarten teacher, JoNette Brogaard, is retiring at the end of the current school year. Parents and students may get an opportunity to meet the new kindergarten teacher at the roundup if the position is filled by that date.

Registration information packets are available at the school, 300 Lake Street, or by calling (320) 763-4842 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
