Youth day camps set
All area youth are invited to have fun exploring the world around them, hop aboard and learn about things that zoom, experience the world under the sea, become a mad scientist for a day, and spend a day at the county fair.
These exciting adventures are all part of the Douglas County Extension and 4-H Youth Development Youth Day Camps. The day camps will be held Wednesdays, June 23, July 28, August 4 and August 20 at various locations throughout the county for youth who have completed grades K-4.
Camps run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a registration fee of $7 per person. Youth are asked to bring their own sack lunch for the noon meal to all of the camps.
"Things that Zoom" day camp is on June 23 at Alexandria City Park. Day campers will investigate and make things that go.
On July 28 campers will dive in and explore the world under the sea at "Under the Sea Day Camp" at Lake Osagi Park in Osakis.
At the "Silly Science" camp at Evansville Elementary School on August 4 campers will learn about experiments, experience a chemical reaction and see how fun science can be.
On August 20 campers will come to the Douglas County Fair to play games, go on a barn tour and enjoy a day at the fair.
