It's fun to play at the YMCA, now more than ever.

The J.A. Wedum Foundation in Minneapolis has awarded a $500,000 matching grant to the Alexandria YMCA to help build an 8,000-square-foot addition, which will bring the total square footage to 64,000 square feet.

The phase II priorities for expansion include:

•Construction of a new multi-purpose room, dedicated to group exercise and youth program space.
