Workshop addresses minimizing holiday stress for caregivers, dementia patients
Holidays can be filled with opportunities for togetherness, sharing, laughter and memories.
For caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia, the holiday season can also pose unique challenges and stresses.
Caring Through the Holidays is a presentation offered by The Alzheimer's Association to discuss strategies for reducing stress for caregivers and persons with dementia during the busy holiday season.
Presenting is Jess Steinbrenner, regional care consultant for the Minnesota North Dakota Chapter of Alzheimer's Association. She provides direct services to families throughout western Minnesota.
Steinbrenner is currently a graduate student working toward a master's degree in social work.
She draws upon her professional experience working with caregivers as well as her personal experience with Alzheimer's disease to educate and support others.
The public is welcome to this free session offered on Tuesday, November 20 at 10 a.m. at Ecumen Bethany Community in the Kalina Hospitality Room, 1020 Lark Street, Alexandria.
