Women Caring for the Land meeting set for August 6
A Women Caring for the Land meeting will be held Tuesday, August 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glenwood. There is no charge for the meeting and lunch will be served.
Participants will hear from Farmers' Legal Action Group (FLAG) about how to develop leases that enhance conservation and help landowners build healthy soil on their farmland. This presentation will be followed by a question and answer period.
In addition, examples of innovative conservation strategies on leased land will be discussed, and there will be presentations on conservation programs and support offered by the Pope County Soil and Water Conservation District and the USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service.
