Witnesses, a one-man play written by Curt Cloninger, features professional actor and speaker Jonathan Swenson. Swenson portrays eight different characters (historical and imagined) as each responds to Jesus. Through the portrayal of these characters, both comic and serious, Swenson seeks to challenge audiences to see Jesus from fresh perspectives.

Swenson is a 1988 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, theater and music and a 1994 graduate of Luther Seminary with a Master of Divinity. He has served as an ordained minister for nearly 20 years.

Swenson performs in community and professional theater events, combining his musical theater passions with intentional evangelical outreach. He is also the founding director of Paraphrase Theatre, a faith-based theater company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Swenson travels throughout the country performing Witnesses and a show called Celebrate the Child, also written by Curt Cloninger.
