Motorists travelling westbound Interstate 94 between Clearwater and St. Cloud will now find all lanes and ramps open for Independence Day holiday travel.
I-94 has been reduced to a single lane in each direction, with the exception of the Memorial Day holiday weekend, since April, 2013.
Eastbound I-94 remains a single lane, with all lanes and ramps scheduled to open by July 2.
No closures are planned on I-94 between Clearwater and St. Cloud Tuesday, July 2 through Monday, July 8. Intermittent lane closures will resume on both directions of the roadway July 8 through July 26, after the Independence Day travel season.
The closures are part of a project to resurface the road. When complete, the project will result in a smoother ride and preserve 8 miles of busy interstate serving an average 42,000 vehicles daily.
