West Central Area wins second straight

A total of 41 first half points for the West Central Area boys’ basketball team helped them roll to a 67-42 win over Hancock Thursday.

Seven players scored points for the Knights, something that made WCA head coach Kraig Hunter happy.

“We had a lot of contributions from everyone on the team again tonight,” Hunter said. “This was another game where we were able to get everyone a lot of playing time in the second half, which we needed to help build our depth.”

Three Knights scored in the double digits against Hancock. Dakotah Kashmark scored 20, Jay Zimmerman had 19 and Brady Combs had 12.

The Knights shot 42 percent from the field and out-rebounded Hancock 43-33. Hancock also committed 17 turnovers while the Knights only had nine.

The Knights are now 2-1 on the season.
