WCA offense erupts in beating Osakis

The West Central Area bats had no problem putting up huge offensive numbers against the Osakis softball team Tuesday in a 16-11 victory on the road.

It was a battle between two competitive teams as heading into the game Osakis had a 5-0 record against Prairie Conference opponents and the Knights were 3-2.

WCA took control of the game in the third inning by scoring seven runs to take a 12-2 lead. Amy Benson, Doranna Blascyk and McKenna Blehr led the offensive charge by picking up three hits each to lead the Knights’ offense.

The Silverstreaks picked up 11 runs against the Knights’ starting pitcher Doranna Blascyk, but she still pitched well enough to win the game.

The win improved WCA’s overall record to 8-3 and dropped Osakis to 8-3.
