WCA loses to Underwood on the road
The West Central Area girls’ basketball team wrapped up its regular season unfavorably in a 54-43 loss to Underwood on the road Friday.
Head coach Beth Hill said the Knights committed too many mental errors to pull out a victory in Underwood.
“We lost to Underwood tonight because we made a lot of little mental errors,” Hill said. “We’ve talked all year about how these seemingly little things add up over the course of a game and become big things.”
Holly Van Kempen led the Knights with 16 points and eight rebounds, and Tiana Christenson scored eight points.
WCA will open the section tournament at home Thursday against the winner of Hancock and Underwood.
