WCA boys second, girls fifth in Perham
The West Central Area track and field team only had 18 athletes present on Friday in Perham, but the boys still finished second and the girls took fifth out of 11 total teams.
Dan Schack set a personal record on the high jump, clearing a height of 6’4”. He also placed third in the long jump and second in the triple jump.
The boys 4x800 meter relay team of Bryce Paulson, Ethan Olson, Tyler Schill and Alex Toms took first in Perham.
In the distance races, Toms took first in the two mile, Olson placed third in the 800 and Schill took sixth in the 800-meter run.
Dakotah Kashmark took second in the long jump and third in the triple jump.
For the girls, Annabelle Haarstad picked up victories in both the shot put and the discus. She is undefeated in both events this season.
Kylee Fernholz placed first in the high jump by clearing a height of 5’2”. Holly Van Kempen placed second in the triple jump and sixth in the 300 meter hurdles, while Abby Van Kempen placed second in the mile.
