Wallace Crumpton, 79
Wallace Edward Crumpton, 79, of 4547 Redwood St., Winter Haven, Florida, went to be with the Lord on March 7, 2009 at his home.
Born on November 25, 1929 in Pelham, North Carolina, he was the son of Clarence Crumpton and Edna Arnold Crumpton.
Wally served with distinction as a sergeant first class in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1954. In 1970, he married Gloria Erickson and they lived in Colorado, where Wally had his own meat processing business. He retired in 2001 and then drove for Loomis-Fargo.
Wally was an avid poker and card player. He also loved fishing. He was an active member of a number of organizations, including the Elks, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria; two brothers; two sisters; children, Leigh Crumpton and wife, Darcie, Joyce Whiting and husband, Steven, Ruth Hjelm and husband, Tony; four stepchildren and six grandchildren.
Throughout his life he touched many lives and will be missed, but remembered.
