Vote to unionize at Lund Boats fails
A vote to unionize the hourly work force at Lund Boats in New York Mills failed.
Of the 240 hourly workers eligible to vote, 85 percent voted against unionization on December 2.
Dan Kubera, spokesperson for the Brunswick Corporation, which owns and operates Lund Boats, said, "Our belief was that unionization was not in the best interest of the employees nor the business. We are gratified by the outcome."
"We engaged our workforce in an open and frank dialogue on reasons to support the company's belief and why unionization was not in their best interest," Kubera said.
