Volleyball: Brandon-Evansville sweeps Hillcrest

The Brandon-Evansville volleyball team made easy work of Hillcrest Lutheran Academy last Thursday night in a 3-0 sweep.

The Chargers controlled the first and second sets, winning 25-16, 25-14, before holding off the Comets 25-20 in the third.

"We had a number of girls who hit well tonight," head coach Kelly Olson said. "Emma and Megan Friedrich, Mariah Hansen and Anna Lundeen all had nice nights. Kinsley [Randt] and Kylee [Hansen] spread the ball around well and kept everyone involved from the setter position."

Megan Friedrich led the Chargers with 11 of the team's 28 kills. Emma Friedrich added eight, while M. Hansen finished with five. Randt had 14 assists. Megan Kokett returned from an injury to lead the team with 15 digs.

"We missed her and look forward to her staying healthy the rest of the season," Olson said. "Senior Stephanie Tuey also saw her first action of the year and dug up a couple of balls that led to points for us. She stepped in and played hard during that third set."
