Vocaldente a cappella quintet to perform
Vocaldente, an award-winning German a cappella male quintet, will present the second concert of the 2013-14 Central Lakes Concert Association series on Saturday, November 23.
The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Jefferson High School auditorium in Alexandria.
Vocaldente first came together in 2004 at the Hochschule fur Music and the Boys Choir of Hannover in Germany.
They have developed into an internationally acclaimed and sought-after vocal ensemble. Vocaldente has been called Germany’s most successful a cappella export.
Unlike other a cappella groups, Vocaldente doesn’t rely on special effects such as making rhythmic percussive sounds with their voices. They keep things purely acoustic, taking a cappella back to its roots.
These five young men use their own arrangements and entertain audiences with the charm of the 1920s, the drive of the 1960s and the sound of contemporary radio.
They regularly perform more than 100 concerts a year throughout their homeland of Germany, Europe, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Japan and Taiwan.
In addition, they have several U.S. tours, including their current 16-concert tour across the central U.S.
