VIDEO: Churning up some fun
A tornado and butter whipped up good times in Miltona and Millerville over the weekend.
Miltona held its 43rd annual Tornado Days to celebrate the community's recovery from a devastating tornado on July 18, 1970.
A perfect summer day set the stage for an impressive parade Saturday. Dozens of parade entries wound through town - everything from a whole lot of fire trucks to watergun-squirting red hat ladies - and there was a whole lot of candy tossing and waving to the crowd.
People also attended an ice cream social, craft sale, 5K run, bake sale, farmers market, beer gardens, water fights, bean bag tournaments, live music, waffle feed and lots more.
Meanwhile, Millerville hosted its annual Butter Days to celebrate the success of the Millerville Co-op Creamery Association.
Big crowds turned out to see sculptures made of butter, play games, enjoy musical entertainment, eat and more.
The festivities included a bean bag tournament, street dance, a 5K race, kids' pedal tractor pull, parade, bounce house, turtle races, historical photography displays, pork chop feed and church bazaar.
